Meet Michael & Jesus

Big Brother Michael and 12 year old Little Brother Jesus have been matched since November of 2007 and have created a strong bond with each other. They started off in the School Based program and decided to switch over to the Community Based program so that they could enjoy more outdoor activities. On one of their outings Michael and Jesus went to Hunan West to grab a bite to eat. While they were there, Jesus decided to put various condiments into his soup. Michael thought it was crazy what he was putting into his soup! They had a great time. When the time for follow-ups came around Jesus’ match support specialist called him to check up on the match. Jesus mentioned to her that he had gone out to eat with Michael and that they had enjoyed "China food.” His match support specialist and Michael thought this was very funny. Michael says, “Jesus is the funniest kid I know!”

Jesus and Michael also attended the 2009 Chili Cook Off at Thorpe Park. They generously volunteered their whole day to help out Big Brothers Big Sisters and also had a blast at the park playing, eating, and laughing.They have a really great connection and many things in common. They are great for each other!A current Junior studying Accounting at NAU, Michael has not only volunteered his time as a Big Brother to Jesus. He also works at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff office as a match support specialist. He is really committed to the organization and a huge help. Michael and Jesus have built a strong and humorous relationship together. They are looking forward to many more memories being made as big brother and little brother.
